Gene and Jude's Hot Dogs
Founded in 1946 by friends and Chicago city workers Gene Mormino and Jude DeSantis, the stand is famous for its limited approach for the Chicago-style hot dog and handful of french fries piled on the hot dogs. And like any authentic Chicago hot dog stand, ketchup is no where to be found. In 2006 they were inducted into the "Vienne Beef Hot Dog Hall of Fame" and in 2011 they were voted the best hot dog in America in a nationwide competition. It is worth the trip to this famous stand.

Dave's Records in Lincoln Park
If you're a fan of vinyl, Dave's Records in Lincoln Park is the place you have to go. The owner, who swears never to sell CDs, will most likely have any record you could possibly think of. Make a day trip out of it, visiting the zoo while downtown.
